The breathtaking views of nearby Campobello Island and Deer Island, New Brunswick, and their islet neighbors, will inspire even non-painters.
Seasonal car ferries (late-June to early-September) make it easy to visit these Canadian islands, indeed all of the Quoddy Loop. You can go hiking on the trails of the Roosevelt Campobello International Park; do some leisurely beachcombing at Herring Cove on Campobello Island; attend a Wednesday-night concert in Lubec, Maine, given by the professional musicians who teach at the internationally recognized SummerKeys music program. You can also find a comprehensive listing of everything in the region by going to www.quoddyloop.com.
Or, how about sea kayaking on the Bay or on one of several nearby lakes, or relaxing aboard the sailing schooners, Sylvina W. Beal or Halie & Matthew on a sunset or whale-watching cruise? Nearby golf courses, art and antique shopping, and visiting with local residents all make for a memorable vacation experience. Eastport is “Different by Nature,” and we hope you will want to come and see for yourself what makes this area so special. In this time of instant communication, instant food, and instant gratification, it is soothing to live by the rhythm of the great tides, the daily movement of the seagulls, the passage of minke whales, and the lingering summer evenings.
