Erin Arnold
Mixed Media Landscape Artist
Growing up in the Midwest, my everyday topographical views were lakes or suburbs. As one can imagine, coming to Maine for the first time over 20 years ago took my breath away. I achieved a BFA at Kansas City Art Institute and MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art. I have been blessed to have spent most summers since my first visit. Bringing up my children on the ocean, sailing, and hiking in Acadia has connected me to nature in a profound way – in a way I feel only Maine can do.
My work in landscape painting started with spending so much time on the water and my deep desire to share the beauty with my audience.Working in layers of wax and acrylic, layering imagery, textures, and colors, the process of painting itself is both the subject and the technique in which I create.
